About Rural Renaissance

The Somerset Rural Renaissance Scheme is overseen by a partnership of agencies and is administered by Somerset County Council as the accountable body.


Somerset County Council’s Rural Delivery Team has provided the staff to assist a range of public, private, and voluntary sector agencies both to develop and deliver suitable projects and to manage the investments provided to local projects and initiatives.

Partners & Stakeholders
Somerset County Council and South West Regional Development Agency Logos The Somerset Rural Renaissance Partnership came together in 2004 and consists of over 20 agencies with an interest in helping to revitalise rural areas. The independent Chair of the Partnership has been Rupert Cox (2005/06) & (2007/08) and Mike Lewis (2006/07).
