Potential for further Rural Renaissance funding: latest update 11 March 2008

The South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) is due to agree a new contract with the Somerset Rural Renaissance Partnership by April 2008 for a new RR Investment Programme for 2008/09 known as a ‘Transitional Year’. The Programme details are yet to be finalised but it is likely to include the continuation of the Workspace Programme (see details of the current programme) and some limited funds for investment in a small range of projects that satisfy the RR priorities for economic development. Unfortunately there will not be any specific funds for Access to Services type projects.

Investments that are available under the new Transitional Programme will only be for the period through to March 31st 2009. This means that all project expenditure would need to have occurred by that date. Whilst awaiting the formal contract from SWRDA we are now reviewing the application process for investments in order to make it more streamlined and easier for applicants. If you have an investment proposal please register your interest in receiving further information when it is available.
