New workspace developments have been given a boost with Somerset Rural Renaissance funds through the innovative and successful Workspace Programme.
Significant capital investments – mainly to private businesses - have been awarded to ten projects across the county for the practical conversion of redundant buildings, to help bring them back into productive use.

Somerset Rural Renaissance received an additional contract to deliver further investments that brought about improved access to existing services, or helped provide new services in the villages and community.
Since early 2007 we have been able to support three village shops - at Middlezoy, Seavington, and Stawley.
